Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Meghan, and I am a 26 year old addicted to creating beautiful things. I am married and currently live in Alabama with my husband and our pup, Dakota. I am a big dreamer, and love to travel and go on adventures in the great outdoors. I feel extremely blessed to be able to do what I love for a living, and my deepest desire in it all is to bring glory to my Creator.

How did you get started as a photographer?

I started falling in love with the process of photography in my high school dark room. My first love is studio art, but I quickly learned that showcasing the beauty in other people was what drove me to create. I am able to do this through the medium of photography. Since my teenage years, I have carried a camera around with me everywhere, yearning to capture something beautiful with my lens. A year and a half ago I took the leap to become a professional photographer and I haven’t looked back. I love every minute of it.

What are some of your best methods for finding clients, or for allowing them to find you?

I really love facebook advertising. It is extremely affordable and you can tailor the add to certain regions, demographics and cultures depending on who you are trying to attract. I also use the good ole word of mouth method. If a client is happy with the work I produce for them, I know they will happily refer me to their friends and family.

What items in your camera bag do you consider to be the most essential to your work?

Other than my camera body, I love my 85mm 1.8 lens. I recently acquired it for a birthday present and love how much difference it makes in my photographs. I also love my stash of Tylenol for those long and crazy wedding days.

Do you have a dream location or session that you would love to shoot?

Yes! Anything that involves mountains and cabins. I’d really love to do a lifestyle session on a mountain somewhere with a cozy fire and snow on the roof. That’s not too much to ask for,right?
